It was mixed fortunes in the first week of finals with Div 3 sneaking home and going straight into the grand final while Div 1 had a shocker and will have to win this week to make it. The come from behind wins late in the season mean even more now for Div 1 as they gave us the second chance in the finals and we certainly need it . Unfortunately everything went wrong in our first finals appearance in a long time with Cohuna teaching us a lesson. Guy’s rink had been in strong form over the last few weeks and started well again. There was only a shot in it at the halfway mark but then the wheels fell off. We just couldn’t get back on the scoreboard and the score blew out to a 8/28 loss. Mainy’s team also started well and kept the score close for the first hour of play. The numbers against started to build then though and they ended up going down 15/28. Regan’s side got jumped at the start and were a long way behind at the halfway point but to their credit they got themselves going and won 7 of the last 10 ends to end up 18/25 down. This overall result will be forgotten about very quickly and we will just put it down to being one of those days. We move on now and get back to playing our best when we head to Cohuna to play Barham with the winner heading to the grand final . Let’s go.
