Fishing Report -April 10, 2025

Hi all, it’s been a very quiet few weeks for me on the fishing front with only a few fish here and there. Locally, in the Barham area there has been some reports of cod into the 70s caught around the town on bait. Also upstream of Barham has been fishing ok with lures. Hopefully the water will now settle after a quick rise out of the Goulburn which made the water a little dirty. Now that the cooler weather is near, the bigger fish will start to move up higher in the water column as the water cools making it the perfect time for surface fishing. The Murrumbidgee around Maude and Hay is still fishing very well with good numbers of cod and yellas being accounted for. A recent trip to the Edward River above Deni was disappointing with nothing caught as there was a slug of very dirty black water working its way downstream. I later found that a flush was sent through the bush nearby, picking up water that had been laying for a few months. This will  clear in the next week or so as it makes its way through the system. In conjunction with Trend in Barham, we have been running a competition over the last few weeks and the winners who can retrieve their prizes from Trend from today are Hunter Trewin with a 66cm cod, Nash Weekly with a nice Yella and Hurley, Jagger and Sophie with a big Yella. Congrats to the winners. Hopefully you enjoy your prizes. I have a few weeks holidays over Easter so hopefully I’ll have a better report then cheers Baz
