It was a timely reminder for farmers and contractors to be vigilant when working around power lines. A John Deere tractor and mower made contact with a power pole west of Wakool on Tuesday afternoon. As the power pole fell, one of the power lines hooked the rotating light on the cabin, resulting in the driver having to remain in the cabin until Essential Energy could cut off electricity to the line. Rural Fire Service, Barham Fire Rescue and NSW Ambulance were all in attendance, the occupant of the tractor escaped unharmed.
