Shaun Hart stunned the footy world back in the 2001 AFL grand final when, on receiving the Norm Smith Medal for best on the ground, he began his acceptance speech before the 100,000 people at the MCG by saying, “The first person I want to thank is my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. After that, I want to thank my wonderful mates, the Brisbane Lions footy club, my beautiful wife, Linda, and my two boys, Jessie and Ricky.” Shaun sharing his Christian faith openly that grand final day was not a surprise to his fellow team members of the Brisbane Lions.
