
I well remember driving over one of the biggest and most impressive cable suspension bridges in the world stretching over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, Scotland. The Forth bridge is 2.5km long and stretches just over 1km between the two main towers. 39,000 tonnes of steel were used in the construction of this bridge. The bridge builders laboured away for a number of years completing this spectacular construction, which now benefits the thousands of people who use the bridge every day.
