Sitting on a bench seat in Mellool Street as she does every afternoon, local resident Beryl Orr was enjoying the sunshine on Tuesday when she heard a loud cracking sound. Right there in front of her, a tree fell on the front of a parked car, just metres away from where she sat.

“I was just sitting there when it dropped,” she told The Bridge.
