Deception: Over a 14 day period, the victim withdrew large amounts of cash from her bank and gave them to a person who contacted her purporting to be from her bank. She handed over an amount of $58,000. The person said they were investigating employee theft. Cohuna police were contacted by a concerned business operator in town who thought things didn’t seem right. Police intercepted the persons of interest in Margaret Street Cohuna. Unfortunately the victim had already given them the cash. This investigation is ongoing.

Theft: Between 5pm Tuesday the 18th of February and 6.30am the following day, a Makita blower and whipper snipper were stolen from the shed of a business in King George Street Cohuna.

Vehicle theft: Between 10am on Saturday the 22nd of February and 9am the following day, offenders have forced entry to a council yard and stolen a black 2015 Jaguar XF sedan that was being housed in the compound.

Burglary: Between 6pm Friday the 21st of February and 10am the following day, offenders have forced entry to a yard off the Quambatook-Dumosa Road Quambatook.  They have stolen a trailing 4tonne 125KPA Welling and Crossley generator. It was towed away from the site behind a vehicle. It appears that the offenders have lost control of the vehicle and left the generator on the Normanville Road.
