On this day – September 18, 1875 (149 years ago), the Cohuna Post Office was officially opened – under the name of Mologa. The name was changed to Cohuna in June 1876. In 1878, mail was conveyed to and from Torrumbarry and Cohuna by way of Gunbower and Echunga (later renamed Weeweerup – then written as one word) two days a week; and to and from Cohuna and Kerang two days a week.
