On this day – June 22, 1912 (112 years ago), The Riverine Herald (page 3) reported that there is much dissatisfaction at the delay in starting Cohuna’s water supply scheme. Despite an announcement four months earlier by the Minister for Water Supply when visiting Cohuna that the work would begin immediately, only a few loads of sand had been carted to the site of the water tower. “At the present rate of procedure, it seems certain that another summer will be over before the work is complete.”
