On this day – December 16, 1927 (97 years ago), the Southern Record and Advertiser (page 4) reported that: A number of leading dairymen were “taking advantage of the prices caused by drought to sell off their dairy herds and stock up heavily with lambs and sheep.” It reported there were fears the district might revert to a large sheep run.
