When I moved to Barham back in January 2000, my then next-door neighbour Vi Wilson told me that the snake situation in our neck of paradise was prolific. They had had 13 snakes in their backyard in that summer. Being a Moulamein girl, snakes didn’t really worry me that much. 

Vi’s prediction that the place was alive with snakes prove to be a fallacy.
