I observed a ‘spotter’ at the southern end of Kings Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. He was patiently waiting and observing from a 4WD Landcruiser ute. He sees some ripples on the water’s surface, makes a call on his mobile phone, and then drives along the beach to re-join his team of fishermen, and the action begins.
It is at this time of the year, late autumn to mid-winter, that mullet fish
