I was recently driving north on the Loddon Valley Highway between Serpentine and Kerang when I spied an interesting sign in the front yard of a small rural church. I stopped and photographed the sign thinking that it was a very apt sign considering World Kindness Day had just occurred this past November 13. The sign said, “Let Jesus carry the burden” (1 Peter 5:7). Jesus was known for His incredible acts of care and kindness helping lame people walk, blind people see and calming a storm on the Sea of Galilee, thus saving the lives of the disciples and so much more. How precious is an act of kindness and care. Let me illustrate this with an old story told through the eyes of a secondary college student.
