Resilient. According to the Oxford Dictionary, it means: (of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Resilient is also, in my opinion, one of the most overused words in the English language, however, it is the perfect word to describe this man, because Charlie Telfer has endured a lot; although you would not know it at first glance as he sits on his bed by the window of his room at Glenarm in Kerang. Look into his eyes and you will see signs of experience, both good and bad. He has loved and lost (in more ways than one); and has been a hard-working, generous and forgiving man. Charlie’s story is worth telling, although he tends to disagree.
